Squanto

So since we started this blog my friend Saige has been determined to make it on here as a fashion spotlight..Well last week as I was sitting in math class little miss Saige decided to text me and tell me she had the cutest outfit on...I was super excited to see it but when I actually saw Saige she basically refused to let me take her picture (Its not nice to get my hopes up like that!) Luckily I snuck in a few pictures of her hair and her boots.
Look at that kick-a sock bun..Saige is so proud of it! The tutorial can be found here                                           http://sayyestohoboken.com/2011/09/diy-sock-bun.html
                                                         Steve Maddens

As we walked home we started talking about cute fashion trends and I told saige she should try wearing some white pants. She said she would think about it and it seemed like she just blew it off. However the next day as I was driving home for the weekend I recieved this message from facebook.

vest-jacket: papaya, baby blue v-neck pinky-rose cardigan: gap, rose scarf: walmart! (it was a steal for 3 bucks!!) white K-slim Jeans: THE D.I.( haha bought them for disco night), then last but not least, brown boots: steve madden

Yep that's right Saige said that I inspired her( This is a huge compliment and it seriously made my day!) and she decided to wear her white pants. Plus her outfit turned out amazingly cute!

Aztec Stripes

Skirt -F21,Cardigan-Charlotte Russe,Cropped top-Papaya, Boots-Forever Young

So while Ms. Jacquelyn is out of town for the week I will be posting, hopefully I don't bore you too much! I totally wore this outfit today and loved it! I also received a ton of compliments....I honestly thought I looked like a hooker....Just kidding but really as I was walking to class I stopped on the corner and thought to myself..."Maybe I shouldn't stay here for very long or people might get the wrong idea."

Ok so now onto the main topic of today...

Is wearing black and brown together ok?

Now here to help us out is Ms. Shelby. She will be giving her opinion on our topic and you might find it quite interesting.

I'll give my opinion first. To be honest, I love black and brown together. Most days you can catch me wearing black skinnies and brown boots. I love it but there are some exceptions, the brown has to be just the right shade in order for me to wear it. All of my boots are mostly a mocha color. In general I don't buy brown articles of clothing because I know they are not something I wear.

Always remember that if you do wear something that is not your normal choice, to try it out, wear it in public and see the general reaction. If you like it though that's all that matters.

Now give it up for Ms. Shelby.....

Growing up my Ma would always say, "You cant mix black and brown". And this has stuck with me through out my life, so personally I don't wear the two together, hah it feels wrong to me. I have tried, but just cant do it! BUT when ever I see Ms. Candace rockin black and brown together, it doesn't bother me. So I guess in the end, who cares what they say. If you like them together go against what your Ma has told you all of these years! Wear whatever the Hell you want Ladies!! :)

Thanks for your input Shelby and the compliments! Now remember if you liked what she had to say check out her awesome blog at http://shelbalou.blogspot.com/.. Her blog is filled with some pretty inspiring stuff.

Life, Love, and Fashion

Hey everyone! Its me Ms. Candace I just popped in to put my two sense in on the top 5 essential items in a girls closet. So...lets get it started...

I first have to start off by saying that wardrobes change with the seasons but there is always those 5 pieces that can be used no matter what time of year it is.

#1 is a GREAT BLAZER- Now like Jake I believe that blazers are awesome and I think they can dress up any outfit. Even if you wake up in the morning and your in a rush you can slip it over a plain white t-shirt and head out the door. Something I love is colored blazers. I own pink, navy blue, and black blazers. If you are hesitant to branch out from the basic black I encourage you to stop coming up with excuses and just do it. When you do it will give you so many more outfit choices.

#2 FLOWY TANKS- Everyone has those days where they feel just not quite right. Lady problems anyone?
Well those days can meet their new best friends... flowy tanks... in any pattern. I love stripes and floral. The great thing about these is that in the summer you can wear them with shorts with out a cover-up and in the winter you can throw a cardigan or a blazer over it with boots. Easiest outfit ever. Another thing is that they cover up the things you feel like hiding... and who doesn't love that?

#3 BOYFRIEND BUTTON UP- Even if you don't have a boyfriend you should still have a great button up. This can be worn just all by itself, dressed up or down. Jake has a great one that is striped that I wear at least twice a week. I wear it with a cardigan and I belt it around the waist, and I always get compliments. I have a great peach colored one that I wear and I kid you not I feel so feminine and pretty every time I put it on.

#4 BOOTS, BOOTS, AND MORE BOOTS- I am a boot fanatic! I have a very unhealthy obsession with boots and I should probably lock that down before it gets out of hand..too late for that... I own over six pairs of boots and that's just my personal collection. I share closets with Jake and my sister and if I include their boots that is over 15 pairs of boots between the three of us. Short boots, tall boots, slouchy boots, tight boots, I love them all!

#5ACCESSORIES- I think accessories can make or break an outfit. I love wearing scarves, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. Just not all at once. I hate it when someone OVER- accessorizes. I know we all have cute jewelery and cute scarves we just don't need to wear our whole jewelery box at once.

It takes time to build a wonderful wardrobe so don't panic if you don't have everything you want. It also takes time to really explore your own style. Something I learned my freshman year of college was that you don't have to always go with the crowd. I lost my sense of self my first year away from home and I became the girl who wore t-shirts and jeans everyday. Not saying there is anything wrong with that it's just not for me. I was the girl who thought that I had to shop at buckle to be beautiful. I was so wrong. I decided to stop being afraid and I branched out. I experiment with what I thought looked good and what didn't. I still continue to try out new patterns and prints. This helps me feel like I am keeping things fresh. Even if the feedback isn't always positive, in the end it's about what I like not what others say.

Love, Life && Fashion

K so this is jacquelyn... we have had a lot of nice comments and lots of questions about life, fashion, and advice.. haha

Dare to be different with your style!!! Its ok to be unique

I received a question on facebook.. that had to do with love and my advice.. but that will be my next post, so I can actually give you good advice. cause I don't have time today...but I promise I will!!!
butttt.....

One of my best friends...just barely kicked down the door.. and simply said, " 5 top things every girl should have in her closet." Bammmm! Simple enough.. right? well.. that is what i am going to post today, while candace is going to post something else. Inspiration eh?

You can tell so much about a girl, just by looking at her closet.. haha... as you all know,  me and candace have VERY similar style, but very different as well... so we are both going to talk about this today.. haha..

My style is very colorful, i like to mix colors.. and always LAYER. No matter what, I don't just wear a t shirt & jeans unless on my lazy days, and if I do I wear a necklace or spice it up with some bracelets... There is nothing wrong with that... I just am a layer girl!!! To me outfits, are all about the way you wear yourself first.. you have to LOVE what you wear, if you want other people to love it too..Be confident in your own skin!!! Even if you just rolled out of bed and went to class.. rock it with confidence and you can fool anyone!
You all should know, that if you roll out of bed.. you don't need to get in the shower get all hussied up just to make your outfit look "that" much better... If I wake up late, I always pull my hair up... in a messy bun.. and I never forget to put concealer on. If you don't have concealer... get your shiz together, and get some!!! It is the essential thing in your make up bag. Nobody wants to see your black circles!...Another thing you can try, is just put on a hat or a fedora.. always makes a difference. Bed head can be sexy people.. just tie a scarf around your head too! That's cute... Rolling out of bed, is something us as college students are notorious for. Love it!!!

so to my top 5 things in a closet... it would have to be
  1. Little Black Dress: For the little black dress, this goes back to the good ol' days.. every woman should have a black dress.. just to go out and make you feel like you are a classy woman and always make you feel good. Black is the color you go to for the night, cause it makes you look mysterious and makes you look slimmer! Nobody can go wrong with that. Right?! Classy is what men go for ladies... when I say little black dress, i literally don't mean LITTLE.... if you go out with a dress that Snookie just wore out to the club, you know its too little... if you go out with your cute little bum hanging out.. you give away all the mystery, and the guys are all going to assume stuff.. no matter what, you all know its true! Respect yourselves first & foremost! I am not saying, go with a dress to your ankles... I mostly mean, just like 4 inches above your knee & some cute heels.. will give off that much mystery.. Get the dress to flatter your bum.. but not tight enough that if you breathe, you bust a seem.
  2. Blazer: I ALWAYS wear a blazer.. It is such a go to for me... now days, cause its so cold... You can't just wear a flowy tank top, cause you'll freeze.. so instead just put a black blazer over it. It will give you a sophisticated look too!. I think that this is something definitely worth your money!... If you don't have one, you should definitely invest in one. They go with everything..but get one to fit your body as well, get one to flatter yourself!
  3. Scarf: During winter days, these are always fun. Even in the summer! If you ever feel like you have something plain on, you should just throw one on and perfecto!!!! If you already do have lots... try some with patterns or different spice to it!
  4. Loose V-Neck Tee: This is something that I love.. I love just loose t shirts, cause if you ever feel not your skinniest.. throw on a loose Tee, and some bracelets... and you will love life! haha... Just saying... Sometimes if you wear something simple, it shows your uniqueness cause... ever single day doesn't have to be a fashion show... sometimes you can wear too much.. so just a pair of cute jeans, flats and a cute Tee with some bracelets.. its simple, cozy and cute!
  5. A pair of good jeans: When I say good.. i don't mean, good to society.. i mean, that flatter your body size and image... everybody needs a good pair!. Most my jeans are from Forever 21, but i have a pair of favorite jeans.. UNION Jeans... if you don't have a pair, these are well worth your money as well... Do it. cause you will love your little bum that you get.. they totally flatter your image.. on your own terms.. They are cute too. I don't have a black booty, so these jeans totally flatter my little bum!!

Welp Folks.. this is my post for the day... you should really just get some of these things, if you don't have them!!! Also another favorite thing of mine, is a good pair of tights.. you can wear them anytime, and it keeps it classy as well. Under skirts, dresses, rompers, shorts... Try it out!!! It will tickle your fancy! .. haha
Keep the questions coming!!!

New Year...New Blog!

Hola!!!!
So me and my friend.. decided that while we are in school, we might as well make our lives useful.... so we are starting up this blog again. It was originally mine, but we wanted to make it more interesting so we started up one with me and her. We are going to talk about life... stupid boys, pointless stuff, money problems, roomates, bargain shopping, fashion, secrets, and of course our favorite stuff... ANDDDD of course, those issues that everyone is thinking, but too afraid to talk about!!!! If you don't want to read it, then what are you doing reading this??... It'll be a spark, so Im sure you will enjoy it.
____________________________________________________________________________________

So for me, my name is jacquelyn. I am 22, and I am currently a sophomore in college... yes, sophomore even though I should be getting my bachelors... but good things take time!.. Right? Well, I am very sarcastic, witty and I also really like to have fun. I like to be real, and I love to give advice. I like to live the carefree- Low key life...  I am sensitive, and one that will tell it how it is!! I just like to have fun, and not really care!

A lot of people ask me questions about relationships... cause ive been there... done that... and also ask me questions about my fashion sense. I have my own sense of everything!!! This is not about how awesome we are.. its just something fun for us to do. We enjoy just having fun with our roomates, and just living life on the edge! Yes!.  So if you ever have questions, don't be afraid to ask!!! Yeah yeah... yeah!
Yours truly, Jacquelyn!

YO! YO! YO! Candace is in the hiz-ouse??? Just kidding with all you fine people out there. My name really is Candace but some people call me Ace. I am 20 years old. I am getting a bachelor's degree in Political Science... and I plan on going to BYU-Hawaii in the fall. I love pepperoni pizza... and since this sounds like I'm introducing myself on a blind date ..I'll stop here.

Just to tell you a little about my personality I am very sarcastic and some people even think I am mean. First of all I am not mean... I am honest. If I have a problem you bet I will say something. I never make fun of people because that is just plain rude and that is not how my parents raised me. I love mixing colors and prints. I love F21...plain and simple.. alright enough about me... let's blow this joint.

PEACE AND LOVE,
Candace

So for today's post, it is somewhat of an intro.... we decided that we are just going to post whenever we feel is necessary. We get questions on campus a lot, and on facebook.. so we decided we will answer some of those questions on here.. not just on fashion, but in life in general!... itll be fun. and we also want people to know that here at our school, there is a very diverse range of people... very different sense of style.. so we are NOT the only fashionable people here in this small town... If we see something we like, which is most likely, we will take a picture of you, and post it on here!!! We WILL NOT post things, and make fun of something that someone did in fact wear.. because that is bullying and just down right dumb... but if there is a controversial subject, we will post our opinions...

"Don't hate... Appreciate!".
